Bank HQ, Spencer Dock, Dublin

Quartz fan coils have recently been installed in a prestigious office fit-out in Spencer Dock, Dublin.  Minimising the carbon footprint was very much at the fore of the clients design brief. Quartz LoCO2 fan coils were selected because of their heating duty, low sound levels and flexibility for future modification. Water for cooling is provided from a central chiller whilst the water for heating is initially supplied at 60/40 deg. C from a stand-alone boiler plant that will be replaced by a district heating scheme. The Quartz LoCO2 utilisation of ec\dc motor technology and an efficient control strategy will reduce energy use to approximately 25% when compared with a standard a/c fan coil. The appointed consultant was The Anslow Partnership (TAP), Dublin and the supplier was Euro Gas Ltd of Bray, Co. Wicklow.

St Pancras Station, London

Built in 1863, adjacent to GNR's Kings Cross, St Pancras Station was an engineering marvel of its time. Now designated as the London Eurostar terminal it has undergone major refurbishment.

A wide range of Quartz fan coil units have been utilised including ceiling concealed, horizontal case, vertical chassis and vertical cased units.

CORBER, a consortium of Costain, O'Rourke, Bachy and Emcor Rail have managed the project with Emcor responsible for the M&E services. The new St Pancras Station was opened by Her Majesty, The Queen in November 2007.

Piccadilly Place, Manchester

A prestigious phased development close to Manchester's Piccadilly Station selected Quartz fan coils for phase 3 of the project, completed in 2007. The project utilised 370 Sapphire type fan coil units to achieve the stringent noise requirement within the space.

The contractor for the project was Shepherd Engineering Services, the M&E consultant was Hoare Lea and Partners and the developer was Argent.
