TEV employee wins local Apprentice of the Year and Engineer of the Year Award
Tev’s engineering apprentice, David Moorhouse has been named Apprentice of the Year and Engineer of the Year by Kirkdale Industrial Training Services at an awards ceremony at Galpharm Stadium in West Yorkshire.
David, 21, has been celebrating with colleagues and is delighted to be awarded this on the final year of his HND Engineering course.
“I was so surprised! I’ve worked hard on the course but when I attended the ceremony I thought it was just to receive my certificate. Winning two awards and a free laptop made it a brilliant evening!” said David.
David joined TEV as an apprentice engineer in 2003 and works in the design and engineering department for TEV at their Brighouse site in West Yorkshire. Working on the development of the Quartz range of products, which were recently selected for the new St Pancras Station, has given David great practical experience alongside his studies.
“It was a great opportunity for me to be able to join TEV just after leaving school. The team is great, the Company have been so supportive in my training and an apprenticeship has given me the best of both worlds, working and training all at the same time.” David added.
The Engineering Manager, Chris Chisman also added;
“As a company TEV are very committed to developing staff through apprenticeship training which enables us as a UK design and manufacturing company to be developing skills for the future in the UK. We are really proud of David as he has worked so hard and is such an asset to the team!”
